The Roman Republic and American Government, although separated by over 2 millennia, are obviously very similar to each other. With their similarities in foundation and their government might just be an indication that maybe the American government could be based off of the Roman Republic. Leaders in both, Julius Caesar and Abraham Lincoln have some commonalities. The time separating these two great governments doesn’t change their similarities and differences.
The Roman Empire is considered to be one of the greatest empires in all of history. During its centuries long run, the empire was able to conquer and rule large portions of Europe and Africa. As such, the Roman Empire is often used as the model for the creation of a successful government. The United States, a modern major power, has a government that closely mirrors of ancient Rome. The three-branch system currently used by the US government was originally a concept created and developed by the Romans.
The values of the Roman republic, included rule of law, upright moral behavior, the rights of citizens, and a political system that offers some protection to the lower class. The Rome army also helped the city become a success because it was drawn from the growing population of Italy and was renowned for being well trained, well fed, and well rewarded. This showed the people around the city that the Roman republic cared for everyone and was very straight forward about what they expected in their city. 6. The Roman Empire was a success thousands of years ago, today the United States has adopted many ideas and aspects of their government. The founding fathers of the United States almost replicated the Roman Republic as an experiment to see if their system would work yet again. America’s standard set of laws reflects those of Rome's, the civil duties of citizens are very similar, and the idea of rotation of power is aligned. Luckily, their experiment of a government worked and USA is flourishing still today. There are so many similarities in the basic laws of the governments of Rome and America.
Is America destined to fall like Rome? There are many controversial arguments over this theory because Rome and America can be compared and contrasted in many ways. Some similarities are that they are both the biggest nations of their time, and America has based some of their decisions after the Roman example. There are many differences that overrule the similarities because America has experienced many technological advancements, the United States is a democratic society, and America can learn from Rome’s past to make better decisions for our future. America will not fall like Rome.
How Roman Republic changed overtime For 200 years early Rome was ruled by a series of Kings. Rome was upset at the way they were being treated. They decided to overthrow the King and this was the beginning of the Roman Republic. A large group of men ran the Roman Republic and were called members of the Senate.
The Roman Republic was founded in 509 BC and lasted for nearly 500 years. During this time, Rome became a dominant power in the Mediterranean region, establishing a vast empire that lasted for centuries. However, the Republic itself was beset by internal conflicts, corruption, and a breakdown of the political system that eventually led to its downfall. One of the key factors that contributed to the Republic's decline was the breakdown of the political system. The Roman Republic was initially designed to provide a balance of power among different branches of government, including the Senate, the magistrates, and the people's assemblies.

They were built underground in tunnels so that they don’t get involved with the farms and the roads. The Roman aqueducts allowed the people of Rome to get access to water easter, so they can take baths and drink water. There were also roads in Rome that help the the roman Republic transport and trade.
The senators and consuls make up the republic. Octavian made himself senator year after year. Then both consuls died and they made Octavian consul. One year he told them he would give away his power but they refused and cave Augustus more power than a normal consul. The Republic helped create the roman empire through Augustus.
Imagine the country, that proud citizens worked so hard to build, all came crashing down. The people faced the awful effects of hunger, homelessness, and confusion. With the similarities between Rome when it was falling, and America today, it is only right to think that the U.S. may be heading in that direction. The similarities between the two countries are mind-blowing. This leads to the conclusion that if America does not change its ways, America will end up like Rome.
The U.S. may have adopted many parts of the Roman government and further added to it, but people have yet to notice all of the similarities and the differences between the two. The U.S. and the Roman government have some similarities like they both have a tripartite government but there are some major differences like women being a part of the government and the number of executives ruling. One similarity is that they are tripartite. For example,“The U.S. and the Roman Republic also have a three based government, it is known as a tripartite system. ”(IPL).
People in Ancient Rome and people in Modern America have many aspects of life that relate and differ. The things people do influences the way that they live their life. The way people lived in the time when Julius Caesar was alive is very different than the way most people live today. The lives of people in Ancient Rome and the lives of people in Modern America are similar and different in their social classes, what they did for entertainment, and the way people treated each other.
