Some changes are shown in the film Road to El Dorado that were added by the developers and are not true. In the film, there are contrasts as well as parallels that are demonstrated. Tulio and Miguel, the two major characters in the film, show a profession as con artists who deceive others to obtain money. Tulio and Miguel stumble onto a dreamlike area while on a trip; there are some parallels and some distinctions in the dreamlike place. When Tulio and Miguel were given presents by both clans, Tzakel khan had a sacrifice to make because they believed that human blood was the only beverage fit for the gods and that if they didn't make a sacrifice, the gods would destroy the earth. This is the first resemblance that is evident. The building was made of gold, as we learned, and gold was even sacrificed for Tulio and Miguel, because they had so much of it that they would sacrifice it and then have tons of it left over. El Dorado also boasts a diverse population that coexists harmoniously, contrary to the widespread belief that the Aztecs were despised by all and allied with the Europeans because they were merciless colonizers who showed no mercy.
