The American Revolution was a political outrage that took place in the late 1700’s during the same time the Thirteen Colonies broke from the British Empire and formed an independent nation, the United States of America. The social, political, and intellectual transformations in the American society caused this event. Many things led to and happened during the American Revolution and caused major things that not necessarily had good results. The French and Indian War was the first cause towards the Revolution, it was fought because of conflicts over the territory, between the French and British in the Ohio River Valley. It was passed by the British Parliament on March 22, 1765 It required colonists to pay a tax printed documents, various licenses, and other goods. The purpose of this tax was to help pay for troops stationed in North America after the British victory and was very unpopular among colonists. Many colonists considered it a violation of their rights as Englishmen to be taxed without their consent, that only the colonial legislatures could grant. This increased towards to Townshend Acts, which is the taxing of in-demand imports, leading to British soldiers being brought into Boston to prevent an uprising. The men started taunting the soldiers because of the tensions that came up because of the uprisings. Fights broke out that resulted in people being killed when Redcoats fired into an angry mob. These troops were stationed in Boston to protect and support crown-appointed colonial officials attempting to enforce unpopular Parliamentary legislation.
