The most important causes of the Democratic Revolution of the 1770s and 1810s were the economic and social causes because taxation wasn’t equal and people who were in the bottom classes were treated unfairly. One reason that economics was one of the most important causes of the Democratic Revolutions was because taxation was unequal.Before the French Revolution, the French society was split into three groups called estates. The first estate was the church which made up 1% of the French population. They owned 10-15% of the land. The 2nd estate were the nobles who made up 2% of the population and payed no taxes. This estate were very wealthy and were landowners. The 3rd estate or the common people class were “forced” to pay more taxes …show more content…

This shows that economic causes were one the most important causes of the Democratic Revolution because the 3rd Estate have to work harder than any other class to support themselves and family. It’s unfair that the 3rd estate who are people who are really poor have to pay the most taxes when they barely have enough money to support themselves. It’s unfair that they have to pay the most taxes for the government when it’s not their fault that the government is in debt. This issue led the French citizens to revolt against the King because they thought they deserved to not pay the overpriced taxes as people that made of the french population and didn’t have a lot of wealth. Before the Mexican Revolution, Mexico was controlled by Spain and the Mexican society was split into four groups. Peninsulares who were Spanish born whites had the most political power. There was Creoles, people who were Mexican born white had jobs as merchants, landowners, or worked in the government. There were Mestizos who were mixed race and were the middle and low class. The last group were the Indians a native population that worked on haciendas for little money and was treated poorly. Mestizos and Indians made majority of the population.
