Who knew planes could fly over a major financial crash! As it turns out, they did. Planes were a new mode of transportation that was introduced by the Wright Brother and was finding its place in the world as most great inventions do. Though as it turns out, it was during the Great Depression this industry flourished and began to integrate into the lives of the american people. Planes were new to the scene and need to fill a demand.
In one event, Louie and 7 other crew members on the Green Hornet (the name of the plane) all crash: “The engine wouldn't start. The plane kept dropping. Green Hornet was doomed. The best Phil could do was try to level it out to ditch. He grunted three words into the interphone: ‘Prepare to crash.’
Charles Lindbergh’s was one of the most famous aviators in the 1920s. He was the first human to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. Charles was working as a mail pilot before he became a successful aviator. His success had open doors for the aviation industry. I’ll discuss my Charles Lindbergh’s impression, technology, process of navigation and accuracy, and the impact it had on the world of aviation.
The Lusitania was a new age ship. It was supposed to have top of the line technology and was pure luxury. The boat was said to be the biggest and fastest ship of its time, and still managed to carry a massive load of passengers. What was very unusual was that the passengers were so calm and unafraid of German submarines. During the time of departure there was a German notice telling British ships to sail with cation due to German appearance in the area.
On the morning of May 27, 1943, Louis and his squadron were sent to search for a missing plane. They flew the Green Hornet. Later that day, the engines started failing and the plane crashed. Louis and two other men survived the crash, they floated at sea for 47 days. Louis and Phil, the only two survivors left of the green hornet were picked up by a Japanese boat and taken to Kwajalein POW camp.
It was not, however, easy. His workshop was little more than a shack, and testing new aircraft was dangerous. During a test flight, Feng lost control of the plane “which plunged into his workshop, setting it ablaze” (Maksel). This would not be his last crash. Ultimately, Feng Ru packed his designs and his airplane and took them back to his home country, China.

At the beginning of the war, many accidents were due to mechanical problems with planes, bad weather and errors in navigation. Louie called the B-24 that they flew on a “Flying Coffin.” “Flying the B-24, one of the world’s heaviest planes, was like wrestling a bear” (Hillenbrand 55). On Thursday, May 27, 1943, Louie, his friend Phil and Cuppernill were headed to Honolulu for their day off. Before they left, a lieutenant flagged them down and told them there were going a mission to search for a missing pilot.
The sinking of the Lusitania was not caused by a natural disaster, but was purposefully sunk in spite of a war. The Lusitania was one of the most famous shipwrecks in history, other than the Titanic, because it was the start of the World War I. America has definitely gone through the worst of times. What is so great about America, though, is that everyone unites together to fix a problem. Many passengers arrived for a relaxing, wonderful cruise but found themselves thrown into chaos as a torpedo entered the ship. This caused America to help out in the war by lending Britain equipment, soldiers, and jobs during this tough time.
In October of 1929, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 25% in four days, this is defined as the Stock Market Crash of 1929. Billions of dollars were lost, countless investors were crushed by the amount of money they lost, and a plethora of people were forced into debt. The Stock Market Crash intensified the Great Depression, which was was a time of economic calamity in America in the 1920’s and 1930’s. The Great Depression was caused by the consolidation of overproduction, false prosperity, unemployment, banking crises, and the stock market crash of 1929.
The attack killed 2,400 americans. Navy battleships were destroyed/damaged. More than 200 planes were damaged .
The Titanic’s maiden voyage was a disaster because the people didn’t prepare for things like this. Most ships go over a safety procedures, but the Titanic didn’t do such a thing. They only rescued wealthy people, which I felt was wrong. Some passengers jumped off the ship in desperation. Whoever drove the ship couldn’t have been paying attention.
The Wright Brothers really changed the course of aerodynamics and it wouldn 't be the the same without
