In the novel Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer, many people thought that Chris McCandless was crazy for what he had done. Callarman's statement states that “McCandless was bright and ignorant” Long, C. (n.d.). I disagree with this quote. I believe that he did it because he didn't want to be bossed around, nor he didn't want to be his dad's puppet. He wanted to experience many new adventures outside of society. In the film Into The Wild (2007) gives us lots of reasons and examples of Christopher McCandless living the young wild and free life. Many people might disagree, but it’s how he wanted to live and nobody or nothing could've stopped him.

Many people express themselves in different ways. I believe that depending on how someone feels they are going to do what they feel like doing. Nobody makes your decisions, but yourself. It is often to say that McCandless wrote quotes every day because he wanted to tell how he felt in the moment. In the film Into The Wild (2007) he shows us when he donated all his money into charity and burns his money. Nobody told him what to do but himself.
