What does it mean to be “free”? Freedom is where you have the ability to do whatever you want without the restraint of others. Achieving freedom was the desire and goal that colonists and revolutionaries pursued throughout the Revolutionary War and many believed was a god given right to man. But the desire for freedom came with its and struggles and freedom did not come easy. In fact, many were not willing to fight for freedom due their fear of British government and their rule over the colonies.
Freedom is the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. The foundation of America is freedom. Freedom from Britain. However, the freedom is limited to white males who own property. When colonists started to immigrate to America, they wanted to escape from under the rule of Britain.
To me freedom means being able to wake up and feel safe. Freedom is being able to speak or act and not feel restricted. I am grateful for the freedom I have but I am also a little concerned. To me freedom is something you should honor and cherish. I do realize that what freedom means to me and what freedom can mean to someone else can be very different.
“With liberty and justice for all” may be the most important concept from The Pledge of Allegiance. What freedom means to me? It means a great deal. Having freedom means that people are not being restricted, and citizens have many privileges. Freedom can mean many things to different people.
According to dictionary.com, freedom means “political or national independents”, but in reality it means much more than that. During the revolutionary war, four thousand four hundred and thirty-five lives were lost in order to gain independence and freedom for all Americans. I believe that freedom means that people can express themselves however they want and that they can make decisions for themselves. I think that this is true because people can choose their religion, have the freedom of speech, and can stand up for what they believe is right. Freedom of religion was part of the First Amendment to the Declaration of Independence, which means that people are able to choose their religion and can freely worship.
Freedom is the ability to love whomever we want, It is when you give without expecting a favor, It is the power to forgive when you've been mistaken, it is the capability to do right without being proud of it. To me Freedom is America, Freedom is the 13 horizontal stripes and the 50 stars waving in the wind, and finally Freedom is for everyone to be equal, yet different in his or her own way. Freedom to me is America, as simple as that. On July 4th, 1776 America gained freedom from Great Britain, for this is one of the most important dates in American history.
What Freedom Means to Me In the words of Daniel J Boorstin, “Freedom means the opportunity to be what we never thought we would be.” However, I bet that every person on this Earth has a different perspective on “freedom,” and some people don’t even know what freedom means. In my eyes, freedom means to have the right to dress how one would like, to have an education, and have equality in voting. Freedom cannot be bought, sold, or traded, but can be fought for and passed on through generations.
Freedom is the ability to do whatever one wants without restraint. Many people in our country take freedom for granted, while many suffer from the lack of freedom in other countries. Freedom is when you choose all of your actions, which is what was meant for everyone. Making choices of your own is how you learn and grow. When you are in a position without freedom, somebody withholds it.
According to the dictionary, freedom is the power to determine action without restraint. Freedom for my generation in America is taken for granted. Having freedom is important because you aren’t forced into doing anything you don 't want to do, it makes life experiences enjoyable, you can be yourself and life 's more fun with freedom. America’s gift to my generation is freedom.
Freedom is what I think of as to do as you please. Being able to eat or drink without having to fight for it. Being able to own a home without someone coming in there and dictating me. Being able to get an education.
“Freedom.” You may hear this word a lot during history, speeches, and even from your parents. You mainly hear this word from people who believe that we should have our own rights. However freedom can be perceived in many different ways some people may take it too far. The question is “What Does Freedom Mean to You?”
What Freedom Means to me Freedom... Freedom.... Freedom is a word you can say a million times and still say it again. Freedom is a beautiful thing, but we can’t forget how many lives were lost to make freedom possible in the world right now.
Freedom. We all have it, but not everyone knows what it means to them. To me, it means we can say what we want and we can say our opinion and debate. Without this freedom I could be arrested for simply expressing my thoughts and saying what I think. The freedom of speech is very important to Americans.
Never in my life have I been asked this question but after reading the first week’s lectures, it is becoming clear to me. Liberty means I am not a slave, I am free. Liberty means I can make my own decisions, express my points of view, beliefs and opinion. My definition of slavery is simply put as: personal property or belonging to someone else. Liberty means I am not a slave of the government
Freedom means the power or right to act, speak, or think without restraint, and the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved. Freedom is the correction to do what he/she wants, live life, and eat what he/she wants. How do we live free? We live free by not judging other people’s freedom rights. Everyone has their own rights.
