Freedom, to me, is being in control of yourself without having anyone else rule over you. It is having the option to make your own decisions. In the movie, William Wallace leads a whole entire army on the belief that once they defeat the Longshanks, they will finally have true freedom. When they beat the British army, the Scottish were free and no longer required to follow the British’s rules. Even though my freedom mostly consists of Mom giving me a later curfew, my definition of freedom is similar to the Scottish.
Freedom is a type of living that everyone in the world would appreciate having. Some people live in a communist country or a country where freedom do not exist and everything is controlled by the government. With many rules and regulations proposed by the government, people feel that it takes away from their freedoms. Nonetheless, America was established upon freedom, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. People want to live this way along with protection from danger.
“With liberty and justice for all” may be the most important concept from The Pledge of Allegiance. What freedom means to me? It means a great deal. Having freedom means that people are not being restricted, and citizens have many privileges. Freedom can mean many things to different people.
According to dictionary.com, freedom means “political or national independents”, but in reality it means much more than that. During the revolutionary war, four thousand four hundred and thirty-five lives were lost in order to gain independence and freedom for all Americans. I believe that freedom means that people can express themselves however they want and that they can make decisions for themselves. I think that this is true because people can choose their religion, have the freedom of speech, and can stand up for what they believe is right. Freedom of religion was part of the First Amendment to the Declaration of Independence, which means that people are able to choose their religion and can freely worship.
In May of 1787, Congress agreed that a Constitutional Convention was urgent for the sole purpose of creating a superior and further united nation. Though there were many disagreements among the thirteen delegates, together they made sure rights were given to the citizens of our nation and agreed that the foundation of the United States should be based on freedom. Throughout the years, our country has also fought to give others, such as women and African Americans, equal rights. Freedom is something that everyone wishes to have, but only some are fortunate to possess.
Freedom (liberty) is the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without resistance. Freedom is America's honor, and honor comes with obligations and we have the obligation to use our freedom wisely. We can accept or reject the obligations, but we must choose well. I'm a patriot for country because of the freedoms that I have. One way we have our freedom is because of the Declaration of Independence and first ten Amendments of the Constitution or The Bill of Rights.
Freedom to me is doing what you love most in your daily life. When I think of freedom I think everyone gets to do what they want. It used to be in our world there was not all freedom there was lots of slavery. Slavery means when people are someone else's property in an unfriendly way.
Freedom is the ability to do whatever one wants without restraint. Many people in our country take freedom for granted, while many suffer from the lack of freedom in other countries. Freedom is when you choose all of your actions, which is what was meant for everyone. Making choices of your own is how you learn and grow. When you are in a position without freedom, somebody withholds it.
Although we pledge to the swaying stars and stripes before school every morning, what does freedom truly stand for and represent for our country? Freedom means being able to have your own rights and not being controlled by a government. Freedom also represents being able to speak out towards your own government or having connections to relatives in countries all around the world! When writing the constitution, our founding fathers wanted to have citizens in power over who represents us; they also wanted for all men to be created equal and to have human rights.
Freedom is what I think of as to do as you please. Being able to eat or drink without having to fight for it. Being able to own a home without someone coming in there and dictating me. Being able to get an education.
Freedom, the state of being free or at liberty rather than in confinement or under physical restraint. Do you want to know what freedom means to me. To me freedom means that you can do what you want. For an example the right bare arms, freedom of speech, and much more. Did you know in many countries they don't have these rights?
According to Google, a popular website, freedom means, “the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.” This isn’t really true because, there is so much more to freedom. Freedom has many different definitions. It is more than a sentence on paper. Just like you are more than a human being.
“I am no bird; and no net ensnares me: I am a free human being with an independent will.” This is the way famous author Charlotte Bronte described freedom in one of her classical books Jane Eyre. Freedom is independence, creativity, and doing what you love. Freedom is breaking away from the net that ensnares you and keeps you away from achieving greatness. By having freedom Americans have earned several rights: freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of press, freedom of religion, the freedom to dress how you choose and to not be judged for it, and the right to bear arms.

Freedom, the capability or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without impediment or constraint. There are many people in our American history that have contributed to our freedom that we have today. However, some of those historic people have wrote, signed, or agreed to our American history documents.
