The Constitution, the foundation of American society. In May 1787, 55 delegates made their way to Philadelphia for a Constitutional Convention. At that time the Articles of Confederation were being used in the United States, however, they simply weren’t working. While under the Articles of Confederation, there was no court system, no chief executive, and not a single way to force the states to pay taxes. The nation needed an improved constitution, creating a stronger central government that would keep the nation together.
In the late 1700’s, it was America’s goal to create a republic that had a representative government that was based upon the approval of the people. Unfortunately, the people feared a strong central government because of the previous trouble the colonies had when they were ruled by Britain. They were always being unfairly taxed and had very few rights. In order to avoid this, a very weak government was developed that seemed to satisfy the people, but would not satisfy the well being of the country. It wasn’t until Shay’s rebellion which brought light to the fact that the Articles of Confederation were not going to cut it, so the Constitutional Convention was created and convened to find an alternative solution which was the creation of the Constitution.
After the Declaration of Independence in 1787, the Federal Government turned to the creation of the Constitution in which delegates from 13 states convened to make compromises on their beliefs for the betterment of a nation. Although the Bill of Rights was initially not a part of the Constitution, the Federalists thought that it was crucial to ensure ratification of the Constitution. This ratification was one of the main reasons why the Bill of Rights needed to be added. Federalists feared a strong, central government, and created a Bill of Rights in order to prevent government abuse. Others believed that a dominating Government could prohibit rights in the future, which would not necessarily be expressed in the Bill of Rights.
In May of 1787, 55 delegates came to Philadelphia to have a Constitutional Convention. They had this meeting so they could make the U.S. Constitution. They wanted to make one because the articles of the Confederation were not working. They wanted to make a Constitution that would benefit the U.S. The Constitution also guarded against tyranny in 4 different ways, Federalism, Separation of powers, checks and balances and big State little State, compromise.
After fighting for so long and hard to secure independence from the British rule, the young United States of America needed to come together to form a strong nation. Having literally sacrificed blood, sweat, and tears to free themselves from the tyrannical oppression of an over-powered central government, the people wanted to ensure that they would not be trading one for another. There needed to exist a means to effect a measure of equality and security for the newly founded country. The Constitution aimed to do just that.
On May 25, 1787, our forefathers gathered at the Philadelphia convention, to write on a document that shaped this country for the better. James Madison presented the Constitution and Bill of Rights to the convention in Philadelphia along with Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of independence. On September 17, 1787, the constitution was signed. Later came the Bill of Rights which was later signed on December 15, 1791.
On September 17, 1787 the Constitution was written. This event is also known as the Constitutional Convention. The Anti-Federalists and the Federalists, had different views on the Constitution, the Federalists had wanted the Constitution to be ratified with limited power of the government. Where as the Anti-Federalists had not wanted the Constitution to be ratified and wanted a compromise for this problem. For this conflict to have a compromise this is where the Bill of Rights came in.
“All men are created equal” was a goal the Founding Fathers tried to achieve in forming the country. July 4, 1776, 56 delegated passed the Declaration of Independence to announce and explain separation from Great Britain. James Madison wrote the Constitution based off the ideas of the Enlightenment period, which had core ideas of personal liberty. The U.S. Constitution established America’s national government and fundamental laws and guaranteed certain basic rights for its citizens. The Constitution was signed on September 17, 1787, by delegates in Philadelphia and presided over by George Washington.
After signing the Declaration of Independence in 1776, The 13 former colonies were undergoing an identity crisis. It was one thing to declare independence, but it was another to realize what you were now that you declared it. The Constitution was eventually written, at an attempt to create a more perfect union between the states. One of the amazing things about the Constitutional Convention was that the people knew most governments would result in either chance or war. They knew that what they were doing was sitting in a room and rationally trying to create a good government.
As the authors of the American Constitution came together in Philadelphia in 1787, they sought to appeal to a divided nation. They faced the daunting task of bridging the gap between local and national control, allowing Americans to overcome their fear of central power by leading citizens away from smaller state sovereignty and toward a common goal of one united nation. In this document, the founding fathers appealed to the political viewpoints of both Federalists and Antifederalists with the goal of establishing a common ground from which to govern. The document was important to the time period because it was the first time that the established colonies were coming together to form a united nation, rather than thirteen separate colonies.
After the failure of the Articles of Confederation, numerous delegates met for a convention, now known as the Constitutional Convention in 1787. At first, the convention’s purpose was to fix the Articles of Confederation. But, the delegates ended up making a new document called the Constitution. This document set the base of the United States’ government, as it established various laws and basic needs for the government.
This new Constitution called for something in between the last two forms of government they had: they called for a strong central government that would last but wouldn 't endanger the citizen’s freedom or rights. This became known as the U.S. Constitution. In the end of the Constitutional Convention, each delegate left with a copy of the Constitution to convince the states to approve it. It got ratified in 1788. In the U.S. Constitution, there were several clauses that focused on slavery, such as ⅗ Compromise, slave trade clause, and the fugitive slave clause.
Freedom is the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. The foundation of America is freedom. Freedom from Britain. However, the freedom is limited to white males who own property. When colonists started to immigrate to America, they wanted to escape from under the rule of Britain.
Freedom Anyone in the world with an occasional source of internet has no choice but to see the seemingly outrageous news stories, posted weekly on events in the US. American’s have made their distrust in the government more than obvious, which in many cases, the government has provoked. The largest debate in the states today is the with the concept of freedom and where the lines are drawn between social security, equality, and one’s rights. Freedom is and always has been heavily emphasized in the development of the 50 states. It’s brought peace and war both figuratively and literally.
Homosexuality can be defined as a sexual orientation and a sense of personal and social identity with or without alternative life style. For some western countries homosexual issues are the norms and are accepted in their lives but it is different with countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and others. The majority of them are from among those who are Muslims. Their views on homosexual issues are different in that they assume homosexual acts are totally wrong because they are strictly forbidden in Islam and are a great sin if it is done. Homosexuality means, the sexual orientation and fantasies, with or without overt sexual behavior with same sex partner.
