In Junto Díaz’s book, “Drown”, the effect of No Face’s single story turning into Ysreal’s humanized struggle is to show when hearing an adjective, there’s a thought of a specific title that summarizes whatever is presented as one object; but when giving that object a name, there is a deeper analyzation and an identity is created. Displayed in the first chapter of Drown, “Ysreal”, numerous examples providing the generalization of the No Face adjective are exposed, telling the horrific story of an monster with no identity. Many facts are learned about No Face but none of those facts included his name (other than the title) or his best attributes, they were all hideous and bluntly exposed physical traumas and actions No Face did or what had happened to him. Those were the
Freedom is the power that allows people to self-determine his or her ideas, it allows people to have the right to act, speak or think without being restraint. The reality of freedom is how individuals see their freedom; for instance, Dr. King got locked in jail for describing his freedom, but others define his freedom differently. Individuals choices, how they want to establish their freedom. One’s person freedom could be someone’s prison. Although people defined that freedom is having unrestricted rights, but limitation create true freedom since it spreads equality to everyone.
Freedom is a type of living that everyone in the world would appreciate having. Some people live in a communist country or a country where freedom do not exist and everything is controlled by the government. With many rules and regulations proposed by the government, people feel that it takes away from their freedoms. Nonetheless, America was established upon freedom, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. People want to live this way along with protection from danger.

Freedom is the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. The foundation of America is freedom. Freedom from Britain. However, the freedom is limited to white males who own property. When colonists started to immigrate to America, they wanted to escape from under the rule of Britain.
To be an american you must act live as an american, so be free, strong, and courageous. Being american is best understood by the way of life as an American. Since the birth of america, Americans have fought for what they thought was right and to fulfill a dream or their manifest destiny. From the start of America we acted on the human rights and set ourselves free and formed the idea of freedom and strength in America. With the Amendments established our freedoms like the first amendment Freedom of expression which states “the First Amendment means that government has no power to restrict expression because of its message, its ideas, its subject matter, or its content” as said by Thurgood Marshall.
Webster Dictionary defines freedom as a “political right”. To me, freedom is much more than that. Freedom gives me and the people of America the right to do anything we want; it allows us to be ourselves no matter where you come from, or who you are. Unfortunately, America has not always been this way; people of different races were treated like trash on the sidewalk. Frederick Douglass had a first-hand experience to this treatment, and he knew what it was like before America allowed everyone to actually be “free”.
Freedom has been the central belief of America since the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Since this day, America has worked hard to keep the idea that America is the “land of the free.” However, throughout the construction of this nation, freedom was defined differently by each person. Freedom to African Americans meant liberty from enslavement and land ownership. Freedom to Europeans meant freedom of religion and government.
Being an American means believing in freedom and fighting for it. An American does not have to agree with all of the government’s decisions, but they do have to believe in the principle of freedom. Being an American also comes with a certain pride, which originates at the country’s very origin. Being an American is about Freedom – The quality or state of being free. It’s about having the freedom to pursue your dreams and desires within the law.
The amount of freedom that America gives to us goes mostly unnoticed in this country. Citizens of the United States have freedom of speech, the right to bare arms, freedom of religion, technology, a good education system, and democratic government. In our country's constitution, we are allowed to say what we think about the government without having any punishments. Since we have this right our government is able to hear the public’s opinion and do what is most beneficial for the people. In addition, the government allows us to protect ourselves properly by having the right to bare arms.
The concept of freedom is extremely prominent in American culture. It is also debated so heavily to the point of controversy in our media, our workplaces, social circles, and even our homes. In this essay I will define the word “freedom,” related synonyms and contrast the term with antonyms and examples of negations. We, as Americans, pride ourselves on the freedom that our country was founded upon, yet we alienate each other due to disagreements on these privleges afforded to us by our government as citizens of the United States of America. Whether it be the “right” to marriage, or the ability to buy firearms, freedom, as defined by Merriam-Webster, is “the ... state of being free, etc.”
Each philosopher has his own way of thinking about the world and belong to different schools of thought. In the twentieth Century, Ludwig Wittgenstein was considered to be the “most influential philosopher” (Monk, 2015). What was amazing about this man was that he could have been anything he wanted to be, other than a philosopher. He had created the aero engine in 1909, cracked the Enigma code, or a billionaire since he has inherited so much money with the death of his father (Brown, 2011). Wittgenstein was influenced by the Viennese culture; in which he was raised.
As American author and motivational speaker, Wayne Dyer, once said, “Freedom means you are unobstructed in living your life as you choose. Anything less is a form of slavery.” These words of the wise man are screaming with meaning and passion as to how important and grand the freedom to choose how we make our lives and how we choose to express ourselves is. These words speak to me greatly and connect almost effortlessly with my own personal definition of the word: freedom. We as a society are developing more and more each continuing day, and as we change our rights begin to change to suit us and allow us to live happier, freer lives.
The main idea of freedom is to be respectful and helpful to the community. Freedom is not endless. Freedom should be limited in some circumstances for the benefits of the community. You can't just do whatever you want just saying that “I have freedom.” We can’t kill people, do things illegally.
In 1787, our founding father’s agreed to write a list of principals for keeping people free. Freedom must be limited. People can not just say they are free. You can not just kill or violate just for freedom. There should be respect for people’s wants and needs.
