What Does Good Writing Mean To Me Essay

A ‘good’ writing for me is one that manages to capture the hearts of the readers. Well, that is really an abstract answer. To put it simply, there are several characteristic that I define as a ‘good’ writing. First of all, there is several area which is flawless, which is the spelling and also the grammar in the writing. This two element is important in showing a good paper. The next aspect is the style of the writing. I tend to focus on the transition and the continuity in the sentence and paragraph so that the readers will not lose their focus during reading. Lastly, the vocabulary used in the writing. By vocabulary, I don’t mean big and sophisticated words but the variation used throughout the writing. To be exact, the word choice used in the wsriting so that there is no same words sound repetitive and redundant in the writing. As an example, taken from Tina Su in her blogpost, “I genuinely believe that we often compromise our goals through a limiting, self-imposed, mindset and a fear of failure. Mindset is everything. We may not be able to control the thoughts our mind throws at us, but we can choose to remain conscious and observe these thoughts rather than instantly reacting to them.” In this simple 3 sentences, the author manages to clearly describe his thought while …show more content…

The first process is the planning parts. This is when I gather all the information and ideas for my writing. The next step is organizing the collected information. Moving on, I will make the draft for the writing as organized and finally the editing and revising step. In the past, I tend to skip the second step as I think it was a waste of time to first organize what you want to write. I realized that this is also an important step in writing once I enrolled in college. Due to this late realization, the things that I found most difficult is organizing my thoughts into writing. I still believe it is not too late to change and improve this
