What I Learned In High School Essay

College Essay "You won't make it past your freshman year because you won't fit in". "That school is a waste of money". "Just send her to Brockton High". "You're not going to be able to adjust to a private school, maybe you should go to a public High School". Wow, that was something my guidance counselor in middle school told me. These are just a few of the things my mother and I were told when I was accepted into Cardinal Spellman High School. Many people told me I shouldn't go to Cardinal Spellman because they don't see the point of it. To them it seemed like just a regular old high school, and my mom was throwing her money away. Well she didn't, I've had so many great experiences at Cardinal Spellman that no amount of money can pay for.

Throughout my freshman and sophomore year I believed what people told me. I did not try my best at all. I truthfully did not put my best foot forward, and I regret that every day. There was this group of girls who basically surrounded me after school. They started saying really hurtful things to me. "You think you're better than us because you're going to a private school?" "We're definitely going to see her at Brockton High by the end of term one". Those are two specific things that I remember from those girls. All through middle school I just wanted to belong. I'm not saying that I wanted to be popular, I just wanted some real friends. And I am very thankful that I was given the opportunity to be apart of the Spellman community, or I should say family. Being at Spellman made me feel like I was apart of a puzzle. It took some time but after trying over and over again I've finally been placed into my part of the
