It is horribly painful for me to write an essay. I am not the kind of writer that is able to write an essay in a couple hours. The fastest essay I have written this semester took me one to two days of work. I have a problem focusing on the thesis and explaining what I want to say. To increase the organization of my essay I focused more on my thesis.
At first, I try to write an outline and I am horrible at it. Through this process, I find my thesis and my three topic sentences.My first introduction helps me start writing. I then explain the subject in the introduction however, this introduction will most likely change. While I write about my subject, I get a deeper insight on the subject. I than come back to it couple days later to reread what I wrote to make some corrections. I have been lacking of getting a peer review part in the past. Since I went to the writing lab, I been getting better at writing well structured sentences. I can see my errors in my paper more clearly.
When I get my paper back, I find that I can figure out the problems in my thesis more clearly and I end up writing a totally new essay. The essay is much better than the previous one. I figure out what I did wrong and I fix it the best I can. I am a person that learns from his mistakes. That is what makes me special, I can get up stronger than before and do something about it. I might complain and complain but the end result is what matters not how you get there.
I changed my process throughout the semester. I now start with an outline rather than just type whatever that came to mind. I establish a good thesis and try to explain it thoroughly.
