Yasin Albandoz Difficulty Paper #1: "What I Really Want is Someone Rolling Around in the Text" While reading this article I had some difficulties understanding what many of the words meant. A lot of the words I’ve never heard of before so it was hard for me to try and understand what the author was saying. Staying focused was difficult as well since I wasn’t very interested I had to focus harder but its hard to focus when you don’t understand the passage. The author describes a type of reading style that they encounter called “marginalia” which in my opinion is when you read a book and take notes in the book as you go along. I feel as if this style of reading might be worth a try in my usual reading style because I can barely ever stay focused when I read and I’m usually just reading to read. The author seems to be very passionate about all of the books they read and says that it's not the same using anything else to read but a book. If I can barely focus reading a paper back book I couldn’t imagine reading it on an electronic device. I would have to say though that I enjoyed the fact that I learned a new reading style because I want to become a stronger reader so that I can widen my knowledge in life. When reading the passage I had a tab open with dictionary.com so that I could look up words I didn’t understand because I want to be able to understand what Im reading. It helped me very much since a lot of the words I couldn’t seem to understand just based off of context clues. I feel as if I do have a new understanding on this insert after reading it with a dictionary to help me understand the words I didn’t know. This insert has shown me that reading doesn’t have to just be about flipping through the pages and reading through the pages as fast as possible. It shows me that you can be
