“American History: Our Hope for the Future” President John F. Kennedy once said “Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer but the right answer. Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past, but let us accept our own responsibility for the future.” The hope of the future lies within us all, that we learn from the problems we have faced in the past, recognize and accept the differences of our neighbor, and respect the symbols of our country. By taking responsibility for our future we hope to create the image of a nation our founding fathers strived to build. The beginning of our great country dates all the way back to 1776; the year the Declaration of Independence was signed. The first men set a president for our entire future and are the reason we are where we are today. Little did they know that everything they would set forth to accomplish would change the future and guide us to being a better unit.
