Pearl Harbor was meant to make a statement for Japan to give them some propaganda for their country although it was considered a success from Japan this just gave the Americans the all clear to enter the war. When this happened, factories went from making household supplies to making weapons for the army and mobilising and workforce. America agreed that they would not enter the war unless they were attacked or threatened before Pearl Harbor America were just sideline influences. Roosevelt decision to go to war was not made by just himself the American people also influenced his diction to go fight. There was a rush through America after the bombing of Pearl Harbor everyone thought “they are going to pay for this” This would have influenced the soldiers and the government to go to war in Europe. As troops were being sent off as they all weren’t going to Europe some went to the Pacific and North Africa. The women back on US soil stepped up to help in factories and by the end of 1941 they were 1.8 million military troops serving for America then a year later the number had doubled to 3.9 million and the next later the number had tripled to 3.9 million troops in the army. Before Pearl Harbor the US had already been making tanks, guns and ammunition to sell off to other countries like Britain but before Pearl Harbor they were ready to go to war they just need to be attacked.
