The Cold War was one of the most significant long-lasting wars between the USSR and the US. This war created tension between the former allies due to their differing political ideologies. When comparing the Cold War to past warfare events, the Cold War was not a physical battle. The USSR and the US competed with artillery to threaten their opponent, this was known as the arms race. This would influence individuals to support their country and the decisions that were made. In the Butter Battle Book, propaganda is advertised by girls marching with a butter-up flag representing the Yooks. When the General was feeling defeated, he heard the girls marching and singing. This motivated him to continue building more advanced weaponry. The Zooks also have girls that march with butter-down flags to belittle their opponent and assert dominance. It is shown that the Yooks also have a butter-up band and teachings for young Yooks. The young Yooks would spread their butter up while singing a tune.
