Eric Schlosser Author of fast food nation the Dark side of the All-American meal introduces the book to the readers as a book about the horrors of fast food. Schlosser tell us how horrible the fast food industry is and the truth about what is happening in the food industry and also what is happing to our world. Schlosser has many good points about how our world revolves around fast food and how unhealthy it is for us. This book opens up your mind to avoiding fast food more often.
In “Don’t Blame the Eater”, David Zinczenko sympathizes with those mothers. He argues that there are simply not enough alternatives to the thousands of fast food restaurants and that the lack of information about those alternatives further complicates things.
In order to mend the problem government set out to give loans to small businesses in hope they would create jobs in the poorest parts of the country. This plan, however, paved the way for fast food to leach in, sporting a high profit rate compared to local grocers. “Because of this, the SBA were more likely to give out loans to people looking to open franchises rather than grocery stores”(Danovich). The effect is a landscape of inner-city America speckled with fast food kings with a high obesity population to match. I agree with Danovich on her stance of poor policy causing the surge of fast food franchises, although I suspect this issue could be traced back to the second world

For example, going back sixty to seventy years ago families had to prepare their meals with more nutritious foods as they did not have nearly the same accessibility to the amount of processed and fast-foods that Americans do
These workers gave very helpful information. The food industry has changed so much over time. According to Eric Schlosser, “A generation ago, three-quarters of the money used to buy food in the United States was spent to prepare meals at home. Today, about half is spent at restaurants--mainly at fast food restaurants.”
In the articles it is obvious that the people are affected by their cultural backgrounds. In, “What Americans Can Learn From Other Food Cultures” by Amy S. Choi, She focuses on comfort foods and their backgrounds. I believe that “Our comfort foods map who are, where we come from, and what happened to us along the way”(Choi). Growing up with a half Bolivian father some of my comfort foods consist of: Locro(Bolivian soup), Plantains, and eating Ichachados when we visited my grandmother.

Chicken nuggets and mac & cheese have impacted the lives of Americans because mac and cheese helped Americans through the Great Depression, chicken used to be very hard to prepare and chicken nuggets helped solve this problem, and anyone can eat the delicious foods for just a small price!
