Franklin D. Roosevelt's Inaugural speech is one of the U.S’s most famous speeches. The new president of the United States of America, Franklin D. Roosevelt read his first speech as the president on March 4, 1933. It’s fame came from the fact that it was right after the Great Depression, and the people really needed some hope in their lives, and the speech fulfilled them. It was a powerful speech that rose everyone in America’s spirits. President Franklin D. Roosevelt not only spoke to make the people feel better, but he also spoke about how he was planning on lifting the economy from where it had been in the past three years. Roosevelt did not have to tell the people there what was going on. The secondary article was written with a lot of ethos and logos, and the primary source had more pathos in it. The secondary source was written mainly to inform, while the primary source was mainly written to fill people with emotion, and motivate them. The primary resource was obviously intended for Americans all around the country, and it was meant to give the people hope after the terrible events that had just happened. President Roosevelt’s primary goal was to give the people hope, and to gain their trust, and this is shown by him addressing his audience by using terms like “fellow Americans.” The secondary sources audience is anyone looking for details about the past, and in this case Presidents Franklin D.
