Hunger Games Analysis
Hunger Games directed by Gary Ross shows a diversity of themes. The themes consist of love, strength, politics, competition, and sacrifices. The theme that sticks out the most is sacrifices. Sacrifice is shown all throughout the movie. There is a huge significance of sacrifice in the movie. The sacrifices shown is when Katniss made herself a tribute in the game instead of letting her sister go, sacrificing security, willing to die with Peeta by eating the berries.

In a dangerous game like this where everyone has to only care for themselves, security is something Katniss really need to have. She showed sacrificing her security in many ways. When Rue died Katniss showed sacrificing her security by taking the time out to put flowers around her lifeless body. However she knew that was very dangerous since anyone could come out of nowhere to kill her. Another example is when she went back looking for Peeta to make sure he was a live inthe rocks. Knowing he could not walk she help carrying him back to safety. In a game like this a tribute has to be aware of their surroundings and to be focused on what is going on. Carrying him shows a lack of security for herself. Katniss was determined to get Peeta feeling better. Instead of leaving him in the cave where he could die and she could continue the game, she went off to get him medicine so he could walk again. Peeta begged her not to go, but she insisted on going. During her mission of getting the medicine another tribute almost kills her. Fortunately, her lack of security pays off because she then becomes saved by the boy from Rue’s district. Not only did she sacrifice her life but she also sacrificed her chance to win in the games by saving Peeta’s
