What does it actually mean to be an American? Being an American is to be someone who loves your country through the good and the bad. We might not be the greatest in some people’s eyes but a true American would tell those people otherwise. Patriotism is a big factor that falls into this topic. It symbolizes and proves just who you are and what you have to give towards your country. When I go to school I show everyone what it means to be an American even if they can’t see it. It gives me the opportunity to let me do what I want to do and how I do it. To be an American means that I am free and that I can vote for anyone that I want to vote for. To be an American means that you can say the Pledge of Allegiance and know what it means and why we have it. We are a country that brings in people from all over the world and who have different religion to be joined as one. People seek out America because we are a symbol of freedom and creativity. We have endless opportunities to do what you want from being a top renowned doctor to a teacher for a small town school.
