PHS mentions through their mission statement, which is employed by all educational buildings within the school district that the goal is to develop open-minded students who desire to learn for the rest of their lives along with the desire …show more content…

PHS states how they want to expand the awareness of students in order to make these individuals more well-rounded as soon-to-be adults. Particularly speaking, they are tasking themselves with getting their students ready to face the next stages of life for them. Preparing students for what comes next is especially important to me because our world is ever-changing; transitioning from upper secondary school to post-secondary school or another path is even more daunting than the switch from middle school to high school. People may not realize this until they close one chapter of their life, but as these learners are still evolving their minds, it becomes quite overwhelming to consider their next steps. Pair that with very great expectations on how life is supposed to go for them, and these students could feel immensely confused if things go the opposite way. Planning on being a supportive unit to my future learners was never a hard decision for me to make; in fact, my friends and my family know me as a compassionate, encouraging individual who loves to guide others in the right direction. Pupils who will be in my future classes are going to understand this transitional time better through me teaching ELA
