In this week's reading of The Whole Message of the Bible in 16 Words by Chris Bruno, we were assigned to read the first two sections, the foundation and the frame. In the first section of his book, Bruno talks about the foundation of the Bible in two key words: The End and God. In the second section, he talks about the frame: creation, covenant, and kingdom. The first section of the book, Bruno focuses on the foundation on which the entire Bible is built: The End and God.
“True faith means holding nothing back. It means putting every hope in God’s fidelity to His Promises. -Fancis Chan” (Reader’s Digest) Starting in around 30CE, Christianity spread throughout the ancient Roman Empire. As the religion grew, Christianity became one of the most prominent religions in the Roman Empire.
Christianity is a very important religion that is practiced by almost a third of the world’s population today. So why was this religion able to grow so much during ancient times? Inspired by Jesus Christ over two thousand years ago, Christianity faced several barriers along its road to prevalence in the world. During his lifetime, Jesus preached the Word of God until Roman officials felt threatened and eventually crucified him. After his death, however, Jesus’ apostles kept up his legacy and continued to preach God’s Word.
In this book, the main point Gonzalez wants the reader to understand first and foremost is just being able to see the Bible through the eyes of a person of Hispanic decent. This forces the reader to see the Bible in a whole new perspective. It’s vital that each person should be able to understand biblical concepts and be able to identify with them. It’s part of what makes the Word so powerful for many. The author feels an importance to point out that it is critical that every person be able to have this type of connection to the Scripture, understanding that backgrounds and life views play a role in this type of comprehension.
The stories of King Arthur and his knights have had a major influence on society through the ages. The stories provide examples of how to treat fellow humans, especially the ladies, as well as how to conduct conversations with other men. However, these stories are just a drop in the bucket compared to how the Bible has influenced society. The Bible has been used for everything from a weapon to a quick cash grab, but its not all bad. The Bible contains a multitude of basic human rights that were designed to keep the playing field level.
I enjoyed very much all the good points mentioned in your discussion board regarding the Bible. I do believe that, it is important to learn the history, meaning and behind God’s plan for the Bible in our regular day lives. In the meantime, I would like to highlight the fact that, nevertheless, the Bible is all God’s Word, but, it is also good, in order to better appreciate, that Christians study other scriptures such as Old and New Testament, Gospel, the Psalms, Proverbs, Wisdom, and so forth. There are differences about the scriptures, for example, the Bible describes God’s word to us, whereas the psalms, are prayers written to God as poetry is set to music. As stated in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable
The Bible itself is the most sold book in all of history, for good reason. In one way or another, it has impacted the lives of almost everyone. Whether it is through the practice of religion, or through the arts, it is a part of us all. Authors have been fond of using it as a tool in their writing, which can be as seen as a type of “Easter egg”. They are not easily shown and the readers sometimes have to dig deep to see them, and the same goes for those eggs.
What are some people that helped the growth of Christianity? Christianity is the part of the five main religions, Buddhism, Judaism, Hinduism, Christianity and Islam. Jesus Christ inspired Christianity. Christianity was created by Paul. Poor people were turning to Christian because it is a religion that is open to anyone, even the poor.
The Bible is saturated with knowledge and we are able to understand what it means. We have a duty to study the Bible in its entirety, meaning we have no right to leave nothing out in our studies of the Bible. As we dive into the prosperous word of God we should approach it with an open heart and an eagerness to learn all we can from it. The Old testament is treated like Revelation at times. We feel as if it’s not needed to study those books of the Bible in our lives.
Bible Quiz Although, it has been said that crying is a rather unmanly thing to do, the Bible depicts an entirely different view concerning the shedding of tears. God said to King Hezekiah, “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears.” (II Kings 20:5) On an occasion of great agony, David prayed to God, “put my tears into your bottle” (Psalms 56:8), suggesting that tears are sufficiently precious to be saved. Tears in the Bible may be identified by these categories: (A) Tears of grief.
According to the Holy Bible, in the book of Genesis, the chapter one from verse twenty six to the verse thirty we find the following: "Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image and likeness. And let them rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky. Let them rule over the tame animals, over all the earth and over all the small crawling animals on the earth.” So God created human beings in his image. In the image of God he created them.
Before we delve into this topic, let us go back to the book of Genesis chapter 1 verse 26. (God said let us make Man in our own image, after our likeness) There are two very important words here, IMAGE and LIKENESS. Let’s first look at the word IMAGE, it means the exact reflection of one’s self, when you look in the mirror, you see the exact reflection of yourself, so we wouldn’t be wrong to say that God looks like Man. Then the word LIKENESS, also means characteristics, behavior, attributes, abilities, nature or actions, so in both reflection and in actions Man is like God.

Essay #1: Why is biblical counseling important, and how does it fit within the ministry of the local church? As Christians, biblical counseling helps us apply both the greatest (and the second which is like it) commands as spoken by Jesus in Matthew 22:36-40. Biblical counseling is also a mechanism to which each of us can fulfill the great commission as spoken by Jesus in Matthew 28: 19-20. As such, biblical counseling not only fits within the ministry of the local church, one could argue that it is the ministry of the local church!
The bible is what helps keeps our faith alive as it contains a rich amount of history that tells us of God’s revelation and the ways how our faith works. Although the bible contains numerous works of different people, it is still a work of God that helps our faith remain constant and grow, as everything written was under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. In some way, I was able to understand the value also of the other books, as before I did not really take interest of the other books included bible, aside from the likes of the Gospels, Genesis, Exodus, Psalms, and Proverbs. Nevertheless, I realized that the books are all part of the bible as each has a purpose to serve and stands as a testament to the infidelity of mankind, and of God’s unfailing love for
