In 1961, John F. Kennedy was sworn in as the president of the United States of America; the youngest to ever be elected. Alongside him stood his beautiful wife, Jackie, who came to be known as one of the most influential First Ladies in our nation’s history. Two short years later, JFK was tragically assassinated, leaving Jackie to carry on his legacy. It was not only his legacy that she carried on, but her own as well. In the short time she spent as the First Lady, she was able to influence the country in more ways than any other. Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis left a clear impact on America and the White House, advocating her historical outlook and continuing to do so after John F. More than any other, her fashion ¨drew international attention” and was quickly replicated by clothing manufacturers and young women. As this fashion frenzy quickly escalated, people could not get enough of Jackie. The paparazzi were soon taking pictures of her and releasing them to the media. As a results, she hired her own White House photographer that would release official pictures to the press, rather than the unauthorized ones. The pictures quickly turned into thousands of magazine covers and television appearances. Her most “prominent” TV appearance was A Tour of the White House with Mrs. John F. Kennedy. This brought the American public into the White House and was “the first glimpse into her restoration project and the most sustained exposure the nation had to this youthful and unique First Lady”. It wasn’t long before Jackie had her own press secretary and “her visibility would permanently forge the media interest in the activities of the presidential
