The National Organization for Women or also know as NOW in 1966 was a group founded for women that stands up against sex discrimination. It was mainly created to help promote the ideas from women, lead changes in social life, and protect the rights of women in every form of social, political and economic life. WIth this women were able to take action and finally have a say in some things. The National Organization for Women attacks the status quo because it's meant for men to have a say in everything and for no women to have any rights or a say in anything. Women are capable of way more than the men think and they are just being belittled and treated as if they are owned by these men. When taking this action the women are finally able to be an active member of the society. With this women didn't fully get a say in everything but their voice was now heard and had the chance to finally be supported. Another form of motivation for the attack on the status quo would be the fact that the women can finally feel like a human. Women have a huge impact on this world and treating them terribly and making them just feel like an object does no good to the social, political, or economic status of their lives. With this organization these women can finally have support from one another to break through the standards the men have set for them. Women nowadays have just as many, if not more rights than the men do. Without pushing this organization across and getting the women the support they need today's society would be completely taken over by the men and this world would be filled with so much testosterone and super high egos no one would truly get along and most of the women would get taken advantage …show more content…

This organization was one of the first to legalize abortion for the women that have been victim to this harrassment. A major regard NOW has is helping the women get back on their feet after they get everything taken away from
