However, its presence in the world is still felt as some individuals refuse to ‘open their eyes to reality’ and, thus, they continue to be deluded into a false reality. On that note, one can be sure that any form of prejudice will continue to be in existence, whether in the form of race, class, sex, age or religion. So long as there is one individual that holds some form of false beliefs, the cycle of prejudice will continue indefinitely. Nevertheless, it should not mean that we should succumb to prejudice and all become prejudiced ourselves because it will only lead to more complications and problems - which our society has had its fair
Over the years there have been ethnic prejudiced between white and blacks, gender, and sexual orientation. An example of prejudice that is used many of times over again is when someone sees a Muslim person on an airplane. Some people automatically go straight into thinking that the Muslim person on the plane is a terrorist and are afraid of them. They do this without getting to know the person and you never know that the Muslim could be the nicest person.
How did prejudice happen in this world that God made? Prejudice is an unfavorable opinion or feeling formed beforehand or without knowledge, thought, or reason. In this world, there are a lot of prejudice. Prejudice doesn´t happen suddenly but it happens from a root. Everything happens from a root and that causes to be or do something.

One would think prejudice is a thing of the past. Unfortunately, that is not the case, prejudice is still a common factor in todays society. Vincent N. Parrillo’s essay “Causes of Prejudice,” helped me to understand how we are affected not just psychologically but in a sociological way as well, as John A. Camacho explains in his A Few Bad Apples opinion piece published in the Pacific Daily News. Both forms of prejudice are continued to be explained through Stud Turkel’s “C.P Ellis,” he gives us an understanding of psychological and sociological prejudice through C.P Ellis’own experiences. This furthers our understanding on how we can be affected by both psychological and sociological prejudices.
According to Tatum, prejudice is “preconceived judgment or opinion, usually based on limited information” (Tatum 67). While racism is the belief that one’s race is superior to another. Prejudice is derived from limited information and is formed based on beliefs or misconceptions of others. Racism stems from information already possessed about a certain race. Once racism is present within a person it seems that the hatred stems so deep that it is hard to change it.
When we say prejudice it is most commonly known to be relating to race. In my experiences at school, there were cases of prejudice based on academic performance. Whenever a teacher would assign a group assignment students with higher averages would join together leaving those with lower averages to group with each other. This usually negatively affects many friendships since one may care more about their marks than their friends. This affected my relationships with my peers that I always worked with positively, but the relationship with those who I never or rarely worked with did not go so well.
Our life experiences make our present, our values, our way of behaving and thinking. Although no one is perfect, we are prone to develop prejudice against those who are totally different from us. For most of the time, prejudice only affects us personally. But if an individual is given a power to be responsible for another person’s live or death, prejudice can turn into a deadly weapon.
State testing has caused a lot of problems in the Bismarck Public School District, along with many other school districts in North Dakota. The problems are caused by how the testing is prepared and making sure scheduling works for everyone. Getting rid of state testing will not get rid of testing but have the students take less tests. Rather than taking state testing Freshman and Sophomore year, take the ACT Aspire test instead. The school and student can see how well they do on the ACT when they take it in their Junior year.
