Christian Justification of Slavery & Frederick Douglass’s Views On Slavery Slavery has been justified in many ways but has been consistently exercised throughout the history of the US. Although in modern society slavery has been deemed an immoral practice, it played a key role in history prior to the ending of the civil war. However, it was defended and justified by confederate Southerners despite Northern scrutiny and criticism. Among the methods of justification practiced by slave owners was that of religious means. Religious justification and the continued use of slavery brought about the growth and development of influential historical figures, like Frederick Douglass, a pro abolitionist and former slave.
This is an example of horrible things committed to slaves but the act of tying them up and mistreating them was not commanded by any government. In 1619, when slavery began in America, slaves were used as a force of labor to build and work on the new land. Unfortunately, slavery continued on for the next three centuries in the United States. Today, people view slavery as an inhumane and cruel way of treating people, but back then many people saw nothing wrong with the holding of slaves. For the most part, slavery was morally and ethically wrong since the enslavement of people was terrible. In general, slavery is unfitting because Thomas Jefferson once said “...that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights...”

Nora Helmer in “A Doll House” is a very different and bizarre character. At times, she can be acting different ways that will have the reader confused. Nora Helmer is not only a smart character but very sneaky with what she does. Nora can just about manipulate anyone with her sweet words and her lustful body she presents to the people. She is not looked at as a female follows the morals and values of how women should be presenting themselves.

Atlantic slave trade can be considered one of the most significant influences in the growth of the Atlantic system. In the West Indies and in the expansion of South America sugar plantations were very success; this was only possible because of the African slave labor. Even though it was cheaper to use natives or indentured servants from Europe, African slaves were seen as a better overall investment. With the mercantilist polices that Europe implemented it allowed for high profits and low competition. From the duration of 1500-1800, over 8 million African slaves took the voyage across the Atlantic.
