White Water Rafting White water rafting is a great activity for the adrenalin junkies or for family activity. There are lots of different companies that offer guided white water rafting, and all these different companies all use different rivers for their business. Some rivers are harder than others and appeal to different people and groups.
White water rafting like most things has its origins. The first recorded of rafting takes place on the Snake River in Wyoming, 1811. Seems kind of late for the first record considering the Louis and Clark expedition started in 1804. Seems to me they might have in countered some rapids on their trip. There are a few things the people in the raft need to do to help you get back in the raft. First they need to try and avoid you so they don’t hit you or run you over with the raft. Depending where you are in the rapid there are a few different things you can do. If they fall out at the beginning of a rapid you want to try and get them back in as soon as possible. When you get close enough to the person in the water they should grab the side of the raft and start to try to climb back in. then the person closes to where the person is trying to get in needs to grab the back strap of the life jacket and help pull the person in. if they fall out toured the end of the raid sometimes you can let them ride the rest of the rapid in the water in the downstream swimmers position. If the guide doesn’t want them to ride the rapid in the water then it’s the same procedure as before. He last way is for the guide. They usually carry rope with a floatie on the end.
