The Fault of Tragedy Romeo is at fault. Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare is a tragedy. The play's conclusion reflected this, ending with both main characters dying. This play could’ve had a happier resolution. Romeo is at fault for this tragic ending. He is responsible for this because of his impulsiveness and irresponsibility. Romeo’s impulsiveness caused the ending. In the play, Romeo constantly makes hasty decisions. An example is when he goes to the Capulets' party, even though they have a feud. In the process of doing so, he angered Tybalt and caused him to make a scene. After this Tybalt went on to murder Mercutio, then Romeo impulsively killed Tybalt. This led to him being banished from the city of Verona and being separated from his wife. Romeo’s Irresponsibility also contributed to this terrible tragedy. When Romeo heard that his wife, Juliet had died Instead of going to Friar Lawrence and asking what happened he bought poison then immediately set off to his wife’s grave to end his life next to his wife. This shows how his irresponsibility caused his own death and the terrible tragedy that had occurred. Another example of Romeo’s irresponsibility is when he killed Tybalt. In the play he is given the ability to decide to get married and have kids providing evidence that he is conncidered an adult. He is also allowed to carry a sword and dagger so he is also considered responsible and fit enough to carry weapons. Romeo was trusted as a rational and responsible adult and was fully accountable for his actions yet constantly made irresponsible and impulsive decisions that caused the people around him to suffer and die. This proves that he is at fault for the death of him and his wife
