Charles Darnay, a French boy who lived in the times of the French Revolution. However later on he decides to move to England due to his disapproval of aristocrats, one of them being his uncle, Marquis Evremonde. He even shuns down his connection to the family name “Evremonde”, but his new life was short lived when he was accused of being a spy by English authorities. His case was eventually dismissed when the court found him to be of mistaken identity and not a spy. Madame Defarge, she was a wine shop owner located in Saint Antoine, a suburb in Paris. Her family was long oppressed by aristocrats like Marquis Evremonde. In the coming years, the Evremonde brothers raped and murdered her sister, she also was pregnant with an unborn child.
