These lines of dialogue from the story are of servants to the Capulet family talking about how they are going to make an insulting gesture towards Montagues as they pass by so they start a fight. This clearly shows that the ones who are more aggressive are the Capulets, and because they are the ones instigating this it shows that Lord Capulet has passed down his hatred to even his lowly servants. This aggression creates more sources of conflict that cause many people to be killed later on in the play as a direct consequence of his spreading his hatred of the Montagues.
Secondly, Lord Capulet is at fault because the negligence of his daughter causes many of the apparent issues for Romeo and Juliet throughout the entire story. Lord Capulet’s negligence is highlighted in these lines as he is arguing against Juliet when she doesn’t want to marry the suitor that he has approved of.
