“A pair of star crossed lovers take their lives:”(I.I.6). In Romeo and Juliet, Capulet causes the majority of the tragic events causes the majority of the tragic events to take place. The summary of the play is that Romeo and Juliet were mad in love but, there families were in a long feud. That feud eventually resulted in the end of the two star crossed lovers via suicide. But, many people in the play may have carried more weight for the death of the two lovers.
Capulet is most to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because he over pressured Juliet to marry Paris. Juliet was married to Romeo at this point in the story. When she refused to marry Paris her father Capulet became extremely angry and threatened to disown her if she did not go through with the wedding. Angrily he stated, “Get thee to church a Thursday / Or never after look me in the face”(III.V.161-162). With this statement, Capulet showed how he cared more about how the family continues that Juliet’s happiness.

Many characters had a major impact in Romeo and Juliet’s death. However, Lord Capulet’s impact was massively effective in result of his actions and choices made.

There are several reasons why Lord Capulet is to be blamed for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. His decision to force Juliet to get married, his contribution of the family feud, and his decision to change the day of the marriage. The main reason I think Lord Capulet is to blame is because he forced Juliet to get married. Him forcing Juliet to get married only left Juliet two choices and that was to either run away or get married, and of course we all know that her getting marred to anyone but Romeo wasn't an option. If he had never forced her to getting married then she would not have done what she did.

Juliet is very depressed because of his behavior and killing, Lord Capulet decides that it would be a good idea for Juliet to marry Paris. Romeo and Juliet is known by many and most know the unbearable tragedy of this story which asks the question. Who is at fault for their demise? Although most people would agree that Lord Capulet and Friar Lawrence are to blame, Romeo is at fault for the many deaths that happen throughout the play because of how he is impulsive, how he instigated the relationship, and how he should have thought rationally. Romeo being impulsive made their relationship and marriage rushed. He only rushed because he was impatient and he just wanted to spend the rest of his life with the love of his life, Juliet.
