In Verona, Italy, the children of two rival families fall in love. The capulets and Montagues have been feuding for ages, for no particular reason. Juliet Capulet, 13, is arranged into a marriage with Paris, 29. Romeo Montague, 16, has a crush on Rosaline Capulet, however, she doesn’t feel the same way. Mercutio, Romeo’s best friend, suggests going to a Capulet party to help with his rejection. At the Capulet party, Romeo sees Juliet for the first time. After the two share a conversation and a kiss, the two teens fall in love. However, The feuding families forbid the two from being together. If Romeo and Juliet were allowed to be together, the events that led to their deaths wouldn’t have happened, making the community responsible. Despite her being in love with Romeo, Juliet is still forced to marry a man twice her age. Distraught, Juliet claims that she would rather end her life than marry the man. She confides in friar Lawrence, who gives her a potion that will put her to sleep for an extended period, allowing her to fake her death and run away with her true love Romeo. Juliet agrees, writes a letter explaining her plan to Romeo, and gives it to friar Lawrence, insisting on the importance of it reaching him. …show more content…

Friar Lawrence passes the letter along to Romeo’s servant, Friar John. However, the letter never makes it to Romeo, leading him to believe his true love is dead. Heartbroken, Romeo buys real poison and goes to visit Juliet’s tomb. He gives Juliet one last kiss before drinking the poison and dying next to her coffin, claiming he cannot live without her. Later, Juliet wakes to find Romeo dead next to her, realizing the letter must not have reached him in time. Hysterical, Juliet takes her lover's dagger and stabs herself, refusing to live without
