The main characters in the book Is a boy named Nick,and a girl named Summer. Nick is brave,smart, and sneaky. Summer is intelligent,trustworthy, and friendly. Nick finds out about a time portal from his grandpa. This story takes place in Detroit.
The book I read was called Fever 1793 and here is my book summary. This book is about a teenage girl named Mattie Cook. it all starts off on August 16, 1973 Mattie's family runs a little coffee shop in Philadelphia. there has been an outbreak of yellow fever in philadelphia all the sudden. the first person Maddie knows that gets yellow fever is one of the workers in the shop whose name was Polly, shortly after Polly dies.
In the poem, “ Let America be America again”, Langston Hughes asserts that America does not live up to what it actually should be. Hughes’ tone seems to be angry and [exasperated]. He implicates the perspective of one particular group, but many people. The poem represents that many people come here with high hopes and big dreams but they are let down. He states that [prosperity] is one of the reasons that there is an economic inconsistency where the rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer.
Fever 1793 This book is about a girl named Mattie Cook, who lives above a coffee shop in Philadelphia. It was all okay until the Fever broke out. Disease spread everywhere, and then everything changed. Her mother gets the disease first, but fortunately lives through it but sadly her grandfather doesn’t.
The book that I chose was I Am Nujood, Age 10 and Divorced by Nujood Ali. Nujood was born in a village in Yemen called Khardji. Nujood’s mother was forced to marry her father when she was only 16, much like Nujood’s early marriage which we hear about later. Nujood had 16 siblings, but some of them died before she was born. Their family was very poor and neither of her parents could read or write and saw no reason for any of their daughters to learn, but their brothers went to school and their father took care of the family’s animals while Nujood and her sisters did the housework.
As a freshman in highschool, I had never heard of Jane Harper, or read any of her books before this. My English teacher challenged me to pick up a book and read it. Instantly, the cover caught my eye. The book looked like a very compelling novel, so I decided to read it. It just came out in September of 2016, so it is a very new book.
“What book are you reading this week?” I asked my new friend, Emma. “Oh, I’m just reading Harry Potter,” she replied, not lifting her head up to look at me. With the start of middle school, I had few friends on top of transferring to a new school. So when I spotted Emma on the first day of school, reading a book amongst a vast sea of white polo shirts and navy blue shorts and skirts, I knew she was going to be one of my new friends.
I am glad I have read this book and I have learned so many new things. It transitions between regents in the past and present really smoothly and moves the story along nicely. The dynamics between the characters were really enjoyable as well. I liked how Colleen vaguely hints about random details we don't think much of as a reader, then specific detail turns out to link to a huge turning point in the plot. Her use of motifs is page-turning.
I would recommend this book to any teenage girl who won’t mine wasting tissues for tears and will not mine getting angry at characters. I would recommend this book to a teenage girl because of all of the romance and usually boy aren’t in to those things. If you are up for the challenge, I will recommend this book to you. All I have to say if you decide to read this novel, fasten your seat belts and enjoy the ride through a page-turning journey, the loops the author puts you threw from her described word choice and the swift pace you’re put on by the

literary analysis: Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets I’ve read Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets, a book written by J.K. Rowling. It’s the second book in a series of 7. The book is about Harry Potter, a 12-year-old wizard going to Hogwarts. This year, people are getting stupefied without anyone knowing the reason behind it.
Edna St. Vincent Millay’s “Conscientious Objector” convinces readers that the speaker’s cause is just and heroic by using references to great evils in history to increase the impact of her words on the audience. The poem constantly depicts the speaker’s acceptance of “Death” as an alternative to revealing information that would give away the security of another’s life. In the first stanza, Millay uses the imagery of Death riding a horse to show how her speaker refuses to assist Death in reaching its victims in places such as Cuba and the Balkans as mentioned in lines five and six, which at the time where places where corruption and death ran rampant. The speaker demonstrates their refusal to aid Death in this stanza by rejecting to help “him” mount his horse and leave to wreak his havoc on others. Stanza two switches to a different time period, Antebellum America, with Death pictured as a man hunting down a runaway slave, torturing the speaker in an attempt to extract information regarding the slave’s whereabouts.
The novel I have chosen is “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” by J.K. Rowling. Which is one of the most well-known children’s novel in the world. It is about an 11 year old boy called Harry who before now has lived a very hard life with relatives who don’t like him. He suddenly discovers that he is, in fact, a wizard and is to be thought at the famous Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This is where he finds out that he is famous in the wizarding community, for defeating Voldamort as a baby.
