While Gatsby tries to obtain a romantic life with Daisy, he is portrayed to be rising above all the corruption to be with Daisy. Daisy is in an emotional state because she is stuck between her past and present, she cries to Gatsby, “Oh, you want too much!" "I love you now—isn't that enough? I can't help what's past." She began to sob helplessly.

However,the real person who was responsible for Gatsby's death was Tom Buchanan. Tom was the most responsible for Gatsby's death because he provided the information of who hit Myrtle to George.
Daisy contributed to the death of Gatsby because she bases her love on a person's wealth. Nick knew that all Daisy cared was money and herself being taken care of. An example of her selfishness is when Daisy says “there such beautiful shirts”, she sobbed, her voice muffled in the thick folds. “It makes me sad because I’ve never seen such beautiful shirts before” F. Some people are the reason for Gatsby’s death like Tom for having an affair with Myrtle, Daisy for killing Myrtle, and finally Gatsby himself for causing all the problems. Daisy only cared about Gatsby because she thought he had the wealth she searched for. However, even when Gatsby bootlegged alcohol to become wealthy, Daisy still betrayed Gatsby, because Mr. Buchanan inherited his money meaning his wealth is much more stable, which, again, displays that Daisy left Gatsby due to her selfish desires. Also, when Gatsby was with Daisy five years ago, he described her as “gleaming like silver” (156 Fitzgerald). This is another indication that Gatsby never related to Daisy’s persona. He let her represent the wealth that he had always hoped to be part of as a child from a poor background.

Who Is the most responsible for the death of Gatsby? Tom could be the most responsible due to the spread of false accusations and information, Daisy may be the most responsible because she ran over Myrtle which started the chain reaction, or is it Wilson who purposely shot Gatsby in the head? Each of these characters had something to do with the murder of Gatsby. The Great gatsby is a story that was narrated by one of the main characters Nick Carraway. Earlier in the book Nick moved from the Midwest to West Egg to help himself financially.
Daisy Buchanan bears indirect responsibility for Gatsby's death in "The Great Gatsby" through her choices, actions, and character flaws. Initially, Daisy's inability to choose love over wealth and social status leads her to marry Tom Buchanan instead of pursuing a relationship with Gatsby. When Gatsby returns to her life, Daisy is torn between her feelings for him and her comfortable, albeit unfulfilling, marriage. Her indecision and eventual choice to remain with Tom despite her lingering affection for Gatsby lay the foundation for the tragedy that unfolds.
All of Daisy’s selfish actions to better her own life lead to the death. Even more importantly, Daisy’s impeccable skill of removing the blame off of herself penultimately leads to Gatsby’s doom because Daisy plays the victim. When meeting Daisy’s chosen friends, she tells Gatsby that he is “Worth the whole d**n bunch” (Fitzgerald 118). Even a minor event like this contributes to Daisy’s lack of acknowledging her actions because she shows how she holds herself higher than less ranked individuals. She puts her friends down to a lower standard and has an inability to lift them up again to look good for Gatsby, even though she chose that bunch first.
In the book The Great Gatsby, Jay Gatsby loses his life to Wilson. Mr. Gatsby is killed because Tom Buchanan told Wilson that Gatsby was the one driving the car when Myrtle his wife was struck by the car. It was Gatsby’s, but he wasn’t the one driving, the one driving was Daisy. Wilson believes that Gatsby is the one who hit his wife with the car. George may have killed Gatsby, but the other characters had their part in his death.
In my opinion, Tom is most responsible for Gatsby’s death. I believe that Tom is most responsible because Tom forgot to tell George that Daisy was the driver of Gatsby’s car the night Myrtle was hit by it. Tom forgot to tell George that because him and Daisy were plotting this out. I could tell something was up when Nick refers that “Tom and Daisy talking in the house(146). I also think that Daisy is a little bit responsible because she took on some bad morals when she hit Myrtle because she could have stopped the car after she hit Myrtle.
Daisy is a very nieve person and indesisive on what she wants. Gatsby had waitied for Daisy and only wanted Daisy. Daisy didnt want to wait for Gatsby even though she is very inlove with him. Gatsby built up his money for a girl that didnt even contact him. Daisy didnt want to wait around and build with him she wanted everything then and there.

In the court of law there’s only one person who was responsible and guilty for the murder of Jay Gatsby. Although in the eyes of god there was more than one person responsible for the murder or had the ability to stop the outcome of the murder. Weather it was Tom being honest about his affair, Daisy doing the right thing and stopping during the accident or Jay Gatsby himself by taking control of the situation and doing what was good for both Daisy and himself instead of just what 's best for Daisy. Tom, Myrtle, Daisy, and Gatsby were selfish and self centered leading them to become Morally responsible for the death of Jay Gatsby.
Consequentialism is the foundation of utilitarianism, its core belief is that an act is morally right if and only if it produces more good results then bad results, on balance, than any other alternative. Similarly, utilitarians believe that an act is morally right if and only if it produces more overall happiness than unhappiness, on balance than any available alternative. In utilitarianism, the moral goal is to increase the amount of good things (pleasure and happiness) and decrease the amount of bad things (pain and unhappiness) for the greatest number of people. Utilitarianism can be broken up into two categories, Rule and Act utilitarianism. For both theories, they can agree that the only thing intrinsically valuable is pleasure/happiness
Daisy was so desperate to find a wealthy man to have in her life, that she stopped waiting for the person who she genuinely loved. She decided to marry somebody who she didn't actually care about, simply because he was wealthy and Gatsby was not around
