John F. Kennedy is the most influential president of our country. The effects of his presidency are still visible today. For example, he was the first president to promote himself and his beliefs through television. People consider him "the first TV president". Kennedy increased the United State's defense budget and allowed for further investment in the Army Special Forces during the Vietnam War. Perhaps the biggest effect of his presidency was his role in the civil rights movement. John F. Kennedy attempted to pass a Civil Rights bill on June 11, 1963 that would encourage equality and strengthen the voting rights of African Americans.
