Some people may believe that Juliet is responsible for the deaths of herself and Romeo. Their argument could be that she caused the tragedy because she willingly went along with Friar Laurence's faulty plan that unraveled into destruction. Although this did occur, it did not ultimately lead to the suicides of both characters. Juliet did agree to the Friar’s plan, but overall it was Romeo who caused the deaths of himself and Juliet. He is the reason the plan ended up failing due to his banishment from Verona. If he would have been closer, the news would have certainly gotten to him and the plan would have succeeded.
