Adventurous and dangerous, Louie Zamperini’s life was one that many will never forget. Louie’s childhood wasn’t very great, he would get into lots of trouble from fights and running from the police. When Louie’s brother Pete heard about everything that Louie was doing, so he decided to get Louie into running track, and soon enough Louie would win every race he was in. Then at the age of 19 he qualified for the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Louie then went into the military and then he had been captured by the Japs.
But her life has not been easy, she’s barely been able to live with her daughter, she was there when her Dad and Aunt died. Not having her own place to stay in New York has been though, but thankfully she has such amazing loving friends and family who have always been there for her. In Laverne Cox’s powerful speech during ‘Creating Change 2014’ she talks about the violent injustices and police discrimination against the lives of trans women of color, throughout her speech she appeals to the viewer 's emotional connection to those in pain and the rationale want to stand up for what you believe in. She does this by using strong repetitive credible sources and hortative sentences. Within her speech Cox talks about all of the present attacks targeted towards trans women of color and when talking about them she brings in her own experience when she was younger and uses that to make her speech seem more credible about what she was saying. In the narrative “Grace Is A Gift” Laura Durham talks about how in the third grade her teacher showed her grace. She was told if she didn’t bring her spelling test at the end of that week that she wouldn’t be able to participate in the activities that the other kids were doing. That Friday she forgot her spelling test but her teacher had still let her participate because how much of a good student she was. The meaning of the story is that grace is a gift and that you should be thankful for it and not take it for granted because it’s not everyday that you are shown grace on things like turning in homework late.
