You can do a lot without a college degree, but it does help you build experience and for some jobs a college degree is required. One of the biggest reasons college degrees is worth it is due to the amount of jobs offered to people without a college degree is greatly decreasing. Everyday there are less and less jobs for high school graduates without college degrees.
I want to go to college because I want to grow as a learner and improve myself as a person. I believe people continue to learn throughout their lives even after finishing their main education; whether it be through technological advances or new discoveries made by researchers, we never stop learning. I hope that in college I will acquire the skill to learn independently according to my interests and needs in order to continue learning even after I’ve finished my college education. Since I was young I have had curiosity as one of my personality traits; I want to ensure that I will be able to satisfy that itch when it appears after I graduate.
Why do I want to attend college? College is an honorary achievement and it separates the determined from the undetermined. Owning a college to degree is an honor and an ecstatic feeling. Through college, that job is that much closer in the grasp. Through college, a person can perform at an elite level and really push themselves for greatness.
After I graduate high school, I was certain that I wanted to pursue a higher education I needed to be patient and determined to achieve my dreams of getting a degree in computer science or automotive engineer. However, I would not be at this level of education without the support of my parents. Thanks to my father's passion for engineering that rubbed off on me let me to where I have to make my own path now since I plan to head to college. I plan to be the first in my family to complete college and I would be proud to be since my father and mother expect a lot from me since they weren't able to go to college they want me to achieve and accomplish what they couldn't do and I want to make them proud of all the success I plan to have of becoming an engineer.
Doing what I love and being able to support myself and loved ones is important to me. I am a very independent person and I like to do things my way. I like to set individual goals everyday, whether that means doing my homework before a certain time, or completing something for the week. They help me get my work done on time and efficiently.
As long as I can remember, I knew that college was going to be part of my future. That is because I always knew what my family expected out of me. College is not only important to me for the reason of making my parents proud, but for making sure that I create more out of myself, as well. With a higher education, I will have more job opportunities available, potentially be able to earn higher income, and obtain more useful life skills than somebody who does not have a college education. To begin, having a college education under my belt is important to me because I will have more opportunities for a job, after I complete my four years.
