Why Women in China Were Weak
In ancient China, women were weak because they had no power or respect, which caused them to be at the bottom of the social classes and have limited opportunities for making decisions in government and in their daily life. Males were portrayed as powerful, which meant that they would take superiority over women. This lack of power caused women to be turned away from many educational and occupational opportunities. The only job that most women had was to be a mother figure. Since women had limited power and no education or job, they were put at the bottom of the social class. The lack of control and power is what made women in China so weak.
Women were so weak that the thought of women soldiers was unheard of. They were thought to be incapable of holding a military spot because men were regarded much higher than the women. When a girl was born into a family, the family was never glad it was a girl. Women already endured hatred and inequality at birth. Women were weak because most of them could not educated or employed. It was very rare for women to receive an education, much less an occupation as well. Only the rich women, whose fathers thought they should get an education, went to school. The only occupation that few women obtained involved literacy or writing. Women had no voice in the government, because they were not able to hold governmental positions such as King. The women were so low on the social classes that they would humble themselves even to the servants.
