Dreams are the key components to a successful life, even if someone does not achieve it. This means that even if someone does not think they can fulfill their dreams, they should still always try to accomplish it because people will always get something good out of it. Dreams are an important aspect of life because without dreams, there is nothing life that an individual can work towards accomplishing.
The importance of dreams is mentioned in the novel, Of Mice and Men, with the character George Milton. George is small and tiny, but he is very sharp-minded and smart. George’s big dream is to live on the ideal farm with Lennie Small however, George’s aspect of life is different than Lennie’s. George wants to live in a farm that has supplies like money and sufficient food or life. In Of Mice and Men, George says “O.K. Someday➖we’re gonna get the jack together and we’re gonna have a little house and a couple of acres an’ a cow and some pigs…” (Steinbeck 15). Steinbeck is saying that George wants to live in the farm because it has everything that will help him go through the Great Depression.

Lennie is big and tall, but he doesn’t have a sharp mind. Lennie’s dream is also to live in the farm, but not for the same reason as George. Lennie’s perspective of a perfect dream is to have a big garden with many rabbits. In Chapter 1 of Of Mice and Men, George said to Lennie, “When we get the coupla acres I can let you tend the rabbits all right.” (Steinbeck 16) The only reason George doesn’t want Lennie to have the rabbits is because whenever Lennie pets soft things, he accidently kills them. One thing that Lennie lacks is common sense so George has to take care of
