Why current Music Trends are degrading to women Growing up in the time of tacky celebrities and life revolving around social media is pressurising to young people and impacting on societies’ views of what is right and what is wrong. Most teenagers now are exposed to the expectations of behaviour and look however, this doesn’t make life easier for us it makes it worse, it angers us to think that we must look a certain way to be accepted, so are current trends degrading to girls and women since they are impacting on societies’ views? It should be clear that videos are not a simple performance, but are perfectly shot and edited videos, yet this is not clear as it is obvious that younger people are putting pressure upon themselves to have the air-brushed looks of Taylor Swift or Justin Bieber. Is it not obvious to people that these are air-brushed? Do they not know that nobody can look perfect? In reality these people wear the same clothes as us and don’t wear perfect make-up when at home, whereas in their videos they are dressed in their best clothes and made up perfectly by professional artists.
