After three years God decided to send rain. So God tells Elijah to go and show himself again to the king. At this time, Jezebel was persecuting the true prophets. Isreal had forgotten about the power of the true and living God. So Elijah called fire from Heaven, while the false prophets were unsuccessful in their attempts to bring fire from their false gods. After the show dowwn proved who the real God was, Elijah killed all the false prophets. This really angered Jezebel, so she vowed that Elijah would ne killed in the same manner. So we see Elijah who had just earned a great victory against the enemy, fleeing for his life. Why did Elijah run? James5:12 states how that Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are. Keep your radio away from lustful lyrics and those sexual innuendos. Also stay away from filthy conversations, whether you participate or just listen to them. We have to battle our own lusts already, so these outside sources just intensify the battle, causing your mind to overload with sinful, lustful
