The three prompts that I chose to talk about were the origins, concepts, and goals of Reformation. Why did Rome rise, how and why it fell. The last prompt I chose was Western Civilization's greatest hits. The first essay I will talk about is the origins, concepts, and goals of reformations.

The Origins of the protestant Reformation was a religious reform movement through Europe in the 16th century. A German monk named Martin Luther questioned the practice and teachings of the Catholic church. Among Martin Luther, there was also John Calvin, and Henry VIII viewed this the same way. Martin Luther criticized the church, he wanted them to focus more on faith and scripture instead of tradition. He wanted to strive away from tradition, he created writings that included the Ninety-Five Theses that challenged the Church and would soon cause chaos. …show more content…

Rome is known as a famous city, and has a lot of history to it. Rome is famous for the development of Western Civilization and was one of the largest empires in history. Rome had many innovations and originated the language Latin.

Rome originally rose to power from many things, including military, and government. Rome was located near a river which made it easy to transfer and deliver overseas which helped them as well. Rome's military system was one of the most effective, they were trained and organized and oftentimes defeated other armies easily. There were two main groups in this military, there were legions and auxiliaries. Rome's governments were originally ruled by kings, but were later established as a government. The Roman Republic was also divided into classes, the partitions and the plebeians. Rome's use of the sea was extremely important, as they used it for deliveries and transferable goods. Things like food, oil, luxury goods, and metals. They not only used the sea for transferring goods, but also for protecting the coastlines and routes for
