When Saddam Hussein was the President of Iraq in 1937-2003. Saddam is known for being a dictator more than a President. Many of the groups of Iraq were very terrified of Saddam especially the Shia and the Sunni Arab, however of course the Ba’ath didn’t dislike Saddam like how the other groups of the people of Iraq did. The area these groups lived in which the Shia lived in the South (City) also they were known as the biggest Muslim groups as well. The Sunni and Ba’ath lived in the Northern area (Ruran). However, Maliki was not providing the people of Iraq with water, electricity, etc. Which caused problems and made the Sunni and the Ba’ath very angry, but chose not say anything at the time. Even though Malaki is causing the same exact issues that Saddam Hussein did to Iraq. However, the Shia people were not angry as much as the Sunni and the Ba’ath since Maliki is a Shia. Four years later, the Iraq had another election for Prime Minister which Maliki did know he was going to lose the election, and he wanted to stay in power. Then Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi became the leader for the people of Sunni and Ba’ath to start fighting the government. Then the people of Iraq started to protest against the government. Malaki army were very weak to fight Baghdadi, since Malaki basically needed half of his army to protect himself, also the other important leaders. Malaki army were very weak and poorly trained, Malaki focused more on defense than on offense. Malaki started to send troops to those small anti-government leaders to raid them and kill some innocent people while they are there. Of course instead of trying to solve the problem, Malaki motivated Baghdadi group to fight even harder and to really show Malaki what they can
