1. Who do you think would pay the cost for suppliers to put their parts catalogs onto these marketplaces like AutoXchange? Who should have paid costs? Since Ford is the ones who started this movement and proved it to be successful it is quite understandable that they should stand the start up cost but i believe that they should charge a fee to other vehicle manufacturers to join in on the act which they get so many benefits from. After watching the video and identifying who the real beneficiary are which is the manufacturers, so i believe that its the suppliers who should stand the cost of having their products being advertise which will interns increase their sales. 2. What were the benefits of these systems and who would reap them? Why did the Federal Trade Commission open an investigation of these marketplaces? Because the Federal Trade Commission had a few causes for concerns and feared that the marketplace was creating a monopoly and encouraging price fixing and the FTC also wanted to ensure that the automakers did not control the purchasing process and price models of the suppliers which would give them the upper hand over the suppliers. 4. What role do you think the technology played in the demise of these systems? Technology played a very pivotal role in the process because not only did it enabled Ford to create a marketplace like no other where businesses and suppliers have access to real time prices and information, but it also lead to the demise of the system along with the idea of transparent competition which many businesses hated the fact that customers are able to compare prices with their competitor which often time cost them a sale because the customer will opt for the better
