Tension between and within countries caused leaders of the countries and groups to spark rebellions of the groups, and one thing after another a World War was on their hands. Germany's tensions between France and Russia started alliances. Serbia had sparked the first rebellion by trying to gain independence from the mother country Austria. Europe was thought to be in a strong position, but at the end of 1918 the position was reduced.
The Industrial Revolution greatly impacted Europe and allowed them to start Imperialism. Europe started colonizing other countries and it became a competition. It soon started to get violent and thus began World War I. The causes of World War I were Militarism, Alliances, nationalism, imperialism, and assassination, but the most important cause was nationalism because all of Europe wanted to create their own national pride for their own countries, and they started ethnic issues.
These four reasons were the beginning of the tensions that were being built, which caused the chain reactions and led to the beginning of the first World War. Europe was also pretty well set up to go to war, but to no surprise they set themselves up for destruction(Doc A).
