Throughout American History, countless events occurred that shaped America into the country it is today. This includes all the different wars and battles fought by Americans. For example, the Civil War, which took place between the United States of America and the Confederate States of America over the issue of slavery.In the end the North won the war due to their many advantages. However, this is not to say that the South didn't enjoy any advantages that assisted them positively. Both the South and the North possessed varying and similar advantages that assisted them during the war. Overall, the North enjoyed an abundance of elements that ultimately lead to their victory of the Civil War. For example, the North occupied more industry, thus more resources to supply their troops with. Another factor is the North’s banking system that allowed for the war to be heavily funded. Plus, their larger population over the South’s also caused the North to contain more willing participants …show more content…

This lead for them of having the upper hand of fighting on familiar territory, unlike the people of the North who were completely unaware of what the terrain was like. The South also had a superior military compared to the North. Many of the great generals of that era came from the South. For example, Robert E. Lee, whose nickname was the Grey Fox. The “grey” part is included because he wore a grey uniform and the “fox” was because he was an intelligent and cunning military leader. Similar to the North, the South’s railroads also aided in the shipping of weaponry to the soldiers at war.Lastly, like the North, the people of the South held immense dignity for their country. Since the South was defending their homeland, the urge to fight and to win the war was significant. Despite these benefits, the North was able to caused the South to surrender to their
