The Wolves did change the river- aldolfo The Yellowstone national park located in wyoming. Montana and idaho features alpine rivers mountains and a very diverse animal life. The wolves disappeared around the 1920’s because people hunted them downand the park started to change. The wolves are suppossed to eat the deer. Without the wolves the deer population increased a lot and they started eating all the berry trees and grass. That affected bears. Many readers may argue that the wolves and the rivers have no connect to each other. However, according to the article, when wolves were reintroduced hints of aspen and willow began to regrow. The increase of vegetation caused the land to become less prone of erosion. This helped the water carve the pathway for more water to flow through and shape rivers and other streams of water. Also, readers may add that other animals were the reason vegetation increased. In a way they are correct however, the wolves started the growth of the ecosystem again. More birds began to come because the terrain regained strength causing trees to be healthy and stronger. The birds made habitats there causing hawks and other prey to come due to the increase of birds. Beavers began to build dens in the rivers again which also provided a home for amphibians, otters, and other animals. The circle of life began to blossom again and it all started with the wolves contribution to the ecosystem. Finally, many may argue that human contributions such as hunting, poaching, etc. caused the decline of elk. Hunting did cause a decline in elk however the mass declination of elk came from the wolves being reintroduced. It incited fear into the elk as they would avoid certain areas to avoid the wolves territories. These areas had a better chance of vegetation to grow and animals and insects that wolves don’t eat, to migrate to those areas.
