Romeo and Juliet didn’t die because of suicide. Romeo and Juliet died because of the lifelong family fued between the Capulets and the Montagues. Yes, Romeo and Juliet did physically commit suicide themselves, however their families drove them to this choice. Romeo and Juliet both loved each other, even though their families didn't. They knew they could never be together. In the end, the feud killed both Romeo and Juliet. The feud caused many problems in Romeo and Juliet, but the first problem was that the feud caused both members of the families to die. According to the book it states “ alive in triumph and Mercutio is dead, away to heaven; respective lenity and fire-eyed fury be my conduct.” This statement shows that Mercutio has died because of the feud between the families. This therefore, proving that Tybalt killed Mercutio as a result of the fued.
